The hall committee, and indeed many people in the village, have been saddened to hear of the passing of Harold Bate.

Harold was highly active within the hall committee, holding several (and sometimes all) of the key positions over the years.

Harold was a driving force within the committee: he pushed to ensure that the hall was run well, and was an excellent resource for the residents of Rixton with Glazebrook. And, even after his retirement from the committee around 3 years ago, Harold was still a keen commentator on the right way to do things - learnt from many many years of giving his time (for free) to the committee.

We could always pick the phone up and ask Harold anything - he was the font of knowledge, and he will be very much missed by us all.

We would like to offer our condolences to Harold's family and friends at this sad time.
